WELCOME TO THE FAIR CHASE HALL OF SHAME
Members of the Fair Chase Committee have steadfastly refused to associate "hunter" or "hunting" with the people and the
shooting that goes on behind the high fence.
The bitter truth is, we
are wrong. We have to accept the shooting gallery operators as part of the
hunting fraternity because the non-hunting
public sees the high fence operators as hunters and lumps them with legitimate hunters that earn their entry
into the fraternity by hunting free ranging game animals that have the
opportunity and wit to escape the hunter. We have to claim the high fence
operators. The Fair Chase Initiative is a house cleaning. Legitimate
hunters did a poor job of monitoring the development of high fence operations in
North Dakota. Complacency allowed a few high fence operations like those listed
below to take root. Shooting galleries like those listed below create a bankrupt
image of hunting in the minds of the non-hunting public. That bankrupt image
affects every legitimate hunter that takes to the field
